Family Worship for May 31, 2020

Hopefully, this will be the last of these posts. Unless something changes dramatically with the COVID19 situation, we will be meeting back at the church starting next Lord’s Day. For those who cannot join us in person, or are ill or at risk, we will continue to offer an online option via Youtube Live, though, for the foreseeable future. We will hold 2 services starting next Sunday. Those whose last names begin with A-K may join us at 9:00 AM,…

Family Worship for May 24, 2020

Happy Memorial Day weekend. Remember to thank the Lord for those who gave their all so we might have freedom. Memorial Day is not about thanking all those who served. Rather, it’s about remembering all those who died that we might live. After today, we will have only one more of these family worship outlines. Once we begin meeting in person on June 7th, the format of the online portion may change a bit. Watch the church website for details…

Family Worship for Sunday, May 17, 2020

It’s been an exciting week, hasn’t it? One week ago, on Thursday evening, we observed the National Day of Prayer at the church, in the building. This past Wednesday evening, we had our first onsite service since March 15, as we held prayer meeting at the church! Unless something changes, we will be observing prayer meetings at the church every Wednesday evening at 6:30, as was our normal custom before the shutdown. And on Sunday, June 7, we will hold…

Family Worship for Mother’s Day – May 10, 2020

Happy Mother’s Day ladies! So many things are different this year, and having to celebrate our Mother’s Day service without gathering at the church is just another to add to the list! But we hope and pray, it is the only time that will happen. Next year, we pray if we’re not in heaven with Jesus, we’ll be together and celebrating Mother’s Day as a gathered church. We usually give a gift and a flower to all the ladies in…

National Day of Prayer

Wednesday evening prayer meeting will NOT be held this week, as we will be participating in the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 7th. That means that the church will be open for you to come and pray as you see fit. We don’t have a sign up sheet this year as in the past, when we asked you to sign up for a time slot to try and ensure we had people praying throughout the evening. This year,…

My Golden Anniversary!

Here is my favorite once-a-year post! This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. (I Timothy 1:15 NKJV) I’ve published this same blog posting for the last few years. Each year it gets more precious. Praise the Lord. It was May 3, 1970. In just 24 hours one of this area’s most well-known historical events would occur – the shootings at Kent State…

Family Worship – May 3, 2020

The video for this week will be available on the “Friendship Bible Church Happenings” Youtube channel on Sunday morning. PRIOR TO watching the video: Gather and pray together. Spend some time sharing personal prayer requests and praises together, and then pray. This week, pray especially for the elders as they wrestle with issues they are unfamiliar with in tonight’s elders’ meeting. Read John 20:24-31 together and talk about it. Here are a few questions to talk through from that passage,…
