Guidelines During COVID

As we return to meeting in person, here is some information you need to be aware of. We will observe the following guidelines for every meeting at the church: Please only enter through the FRONT DOOR of the building (facing Rt. 44) and only exit through the main door (by the flagpole). Please abide by the 6 foot social distancing rule, with the only exception being those in your immediate family. No handshaking or hugging. Masks are not mandatory, but others may…

Colossal Happenings!

Huge… enormous… immense… prodigious… gigantic… gargantuan… mammoth… cosmic! Those are a few words to describe some of the good stuff happening here at FBC over the next couple months. This Saturday we are restarting our Men’s Prayer Breakfasts! Having gone without these wonderful events for a year now, that is huge news indeed. Of course, we’re taking it slow and safe, so we’re limiting attendance to only 20. If you were one of those who managed to get on the…

A Slight Change Of Plans

Church Family, I had to put my father in the hospital on Sunday evening. He had basically lost the use of his legs, and couldn’t stand. Tests so far have determined that his kidneys are failing, and this may have been the cause of his problem. As is routine at hospitals now, I guess, they performed a COVID test and found that he was positive for that, as well. And, since I was with him most of Sunday afternoon and…

Nursing Home Ministry Restart!

Our ministry to Vista Veranda in Ravenna has been on hold since COVID shut it down a year ago. However, the residents have now all been vaccinated and we are being asked to restart those services. There is still a mask requirement, and normal social distancing, but we can now hold services indoors in the common area. Only 2 are allowed to participate at a time currently, but hopefully that restriction will soon lift as well. Please see the pastor…

Returning (albeit slowly) to Normal

We (the elders and I) have been prayerfully trying to determine when and how we should return to normalcy here at FBC. It is not an easy decision, and I certainly ask for your prayers. Knowing that no decision we make will be agreed to by all, we are carefully considering and planning for the following next steps: On April 11th (i.e. the Sunday following Easter), we will return to a single service format with normal seating arrangement. All currently…

Just 2 Weeks Away!

RED HEART SUNDAY! We can’t gather together in a single service yet, and we can’t eat together, but we can ALL WEAR RED TOGETHER!!!! A very special gift will be available to the first 100 who attend!

The Greatest Privilege (and Power) in the World

We have a huge prayer list for prayer meeting tonight. Will you come and join us as we exercise the greatest privilege in the world and pray for these needs? There is nothing with more power than prayer. Jesus, who could have called 10,000 angels and Who had infinite resources at His disposal, relied on PRAYER to get things done. Tonight we gather at 6:30. We pray. We pray for each other… for our corrupt and sick nation… for our…

Weekend Stuff

Well here we are only into the 2nd Lord’s Day of the year, and already 2021 is turning into an interesting year. This Sunday at FBC will be an interesting one, too. Our 2 service schedule continues this week, with early worship at 8:30 and late worship at 10:30. The early service continues to be the more lightly attended, so if distancing is important to you, that’s the service to try. We have adequate spacing for the late service as…

Opportunity! It’s All New!

The year, that is. It’s 2021, and we’re starting all over with a new calendar. One of the things that is a wonderful opportunity if you have not yet taken advantage of it is midweek prayer meeting.   We will meet tonight at 6:30 in the sanctuary, open the word, share requests, pray together, and start this year off on the right foot. Will you join us? We are never longer than an hour, and we never ask anyone to…

Here It Is!!! Last Chance!!!

The last prayer meeting of 2020 is upon us this evening. I hope you’ll join us. I’m going to share a few thoughts about 2021, and what will be important going into the new year. And of course we’ll pray for one another… for our world… for the growth of the Kingdom… for souls… for health… for peace… for our land… for you. Much to pray about. Will you join us? It’s your last chance to do so this year!…

Carols and Candles

Because of the pandemic this year, I elected to cancel our normal Christmas Eve candlelight services. Those services normally draw a large crowd, and most of that crowd is from outside our normal church family. Out of an abundance of caution, therefore, I cancelled the normal Christmas Eve candlelight services this year. Some have expressed chagrin over that decision, and our awesome worship leader Beth came up with a compromise. We will use the prayer meeting this week, which is…
