FIRST BIG DAY OF 2024

Sunday, January 7th, will be a big day. We will hear a brief update from our missionary with Trans World Radio, Tim McElhaney. Then, after the worship service, we will hold our annual business meeting, presenting the financial report from 2023, the budget for 2024, the officers selected for 2024, a summary of 2023 accomplishments and activities, as well as our goals for 2024. Members, it’s important that you attend if at all possible. Non-members, we would love to have…

Rethinking Deacons and Deaconesses

Friendship Bible Church has, from its inception, been governed and served by two Biblical offices – elders and deacons. The elders have occupied the governing role, and the deacons the serving role. The elder role has been reserved for men only, per the Bible, while the deacon role has included both men (deacons) and women (deaconesses). Even before Friendship Bible Church, when this body was the Randolph Christian Church, these two roles were prominent. The elder role, however, has changed…

Our Sister Sandi Wagner

As most of you know, our sister Sandi is with the Lord, following an accident in front of her home on Rt. 44. Here are the service details: Wednesday, December 6th at 11AM – Calling hours at the church. Wednesday, December 6th at 12PM – Funeral service at the church, with graveside service to follow.

All Systems Go!

Campfire Fellowship (last one of the year) is tomorrow at the Weber’s, from 4:30 until the cows come home. It will be held rain or shine. Right now the rain is supposed to end in the morning tomorrow, so we should be good. Remember the Campfire Fellowship Drill – bring a chair on which to sit yourself, and a side dish to share. Bring also a desire for fun, fellowship and food. Follow that drill and you’ll have a great…

T MINUS 1!

It’s here! The weekend we celebrate Old Fashioned Sunday has arrived. Today there will be a flurry of activity as setup and prep goes into high gear. Then tomorrow, it will all start about 9 with the arrival of old tractors and old cars. Then: 9:30 – We gather for Sunday School per usual. 10:30 – Our Old Fashioned Worship service begins, with special musical guests “The Songsters”. We’ll recognize the peoples’ choice for best old fashioned outfit, and also…

Penultimate!

It’s one of my favorite words. As you know, it means “next to the last”, and so it fits the activities of the day. For this evening at 5PM, at the home of Sean and Marianne Turner, the penultimate Campfire Fellowship will take place. Bring a chair to sit on, and something yummy or munchie to share, and gather at their place. We’ll eat about 5 and enjoy some great fellowship with our brothers and sisters. I’m told there will…

T MINUS 2 DAYS!

Old Fashioned Sunday is almost here. It’s going to be a fun and blessed day, I’m certain. Great music from The Songsters, old fashioned preaching, old fashioned costumes, a pie baking competition, great food in our new Commons, face painting and balloon art and Shrinky Dink for the kids, corn hole, horse shoes, and a couple other games for all ages, a dunk tank, and even the possibility of somebody getting a pie smooshed into their face! We always enjoy…

Holy Land

Dear Church Family, This coming Lord’s Day we welcome brother Jerry Boritzki to our services. He is an old friend of mine, and has both hosted and participated in many trips to the Holy Land. He will be preaching in our service Sunday, as well as sharing information about Holy Land tours. Please come and hear what he has to say! If you have questions about a trip to the Holy Land, come loaded with those questions! I have been…

And… we’re off!

Summer is really here at FBC when we start our campfire fellowships, and the first one is this Saturday, June 24th, at 5PM, at Johnson Acres. Here’s what you need to know: Bring a dish to pass if you are able. If you can’t do that, please don’t let it stop you from coming. We will have burgers and dogs on the grill, and there is always PLENTY of side dishes, so come anyway. Bring a lawn chair to sit…

Dads and Babies!

Sunday will be a blessed day, even more so than normal. Every Lord’s Day is so special and so important to us as believers. We ought never miss a one, for God always blesses us when we gather to worship Him. But this Sunday two things are happening that I hope you’ll be a part of: Father’s Day – The one day out of the year specially set aside to honor dads. Baby Dedication – Several families will be bringing…
