Messy Stalls

Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox. (Proverbs 14:4 KJV) That verse reminds me that if you’re going to get things done for Jesus, sometimes it’s going to get messy! And this is a messy busy fascinating weekend coming up. Operation Christmas Child collection week is in full swing. There are boxes everywhere! And more coming in through Sunday when collection ends and we load the final boxes in…

Only when we get to heaven will we know what impact each of these gift boxes had for souls. Will you join us?

The Church’s High Privilege

“Men ought always to pray.” (Luke 18:1) Our brother Charles Spurgeon had some thoughts on this verse: Jesus has sent his church into the world on the same errand upon which he himself came, and this mission includes intercession. It is the church’s high privilege to pray with acceptance. The door of grace is always open for her petitions, and they never return empty-handed. The veil was rent for her, the blood was sprinkled upon the altar for her, God…

There are a limited number of copies available through the church for his cost ($7.50). Operation Christmas Child activities are in full swing this week and throughout November. Tomorrow (Friday, November 1) is the first of three Assembly Parties at the church. We will be assembling shoeboxes, and gifts to put in those boxes. Fun and fellowship…

First Time!

Last Sunday we baptized. This coming Sunday, guess what? We’re baptizing again. That’s the first time we’ve baptized two Sundays in a row. Praise the Lord. That’s not all that’s happening this weekend, of course: Saturday at 8:00 AM – Men’s Prayer breakfast in Fellowship Hall. No man in his right mind would miss this! Saturday at 9:30 AM – Our resident fireman, Ryan Hall, will be conducting a class in proper use of a fire extinguisher. This is a…

Lord’s Day Happenings

This Lord’s Day is a big one. It all starts with Sunday School at 9:30. Our worship service follows at 10:30, but it’s going to be a special one. We’ve got several who will be following the Lord in believer’s baptism at the conclusion of the service! We might have a baby dedication to boot! And we’ve got Calvary’s Love bringing special music during the service! Then, after all that, we won’t be done, for there’s a soup luncheon in…
