Does Anybody Know What Time It Is?

(Extra points if you can remember not only the TV show, but also the character that used to say that line!) But it’s not tool time… it’s PRAYER MEETING TIME! Join us tonight at 6:30 as we pray for one another. So many requests, and so little time left to pray for others. Prayer costs nothing, but accomplishes more than if it cost billions. “Become an expert in prayer during times of calm so that you can pray like an…

Colossal Happenings!

Huge… enormous… immense… prodigious… gigantic… gargantuan… mammoth… cosmic! Those are a few words to describe some of the good stuff happening here at FBC over the next couple months. This Saturday we are restarting our Men’s Prayer Breakfasts! Having gone without these wonderful events for a year now, that is huge news indeed. Of course, we’re taking it slow and safe, so we’re limiting attendance to only 20. If you were one of those who managed to get on the…

The Greatest Privilege (and Power) in the World

We have a huge prayer list for prayer meeting tonight. Will you come and join us as we exercise the greatest privilege in the world and pray for these needs? There is nothing with more power than prayer. Jesus, who could have called 10,000 angels and Who had infinite resources at His disposal, relied on PRAYER to get things done. Tonight we gather at 6:30. We pray. We pray for each other… for our corrupt and sick nation… for our…

The Serenity Prayer

The 18th century theologian Reinhold Neibuhr is thought to be the actual author of what we often call The Serenity Prayer. Niebuhr was a major influence on the German Pastor and Nazi resister, Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The version of the prayer we usually see is this: God, grant me the Serenity To accept the things I cannot change… Courage to change the things I can, And Wisdom to know the difference. But the original and full version is better. Perhaps you…
