As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend (Proverbs 27:17 NKJV). The Bible has a lot to say about friendship.
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain (Philippians 1:21 NKJV). Christ was the center of Paul’s life, and the gain he anticipated in death.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV). You can trust God, ALWAYS.
For I have been told by the word of the LORD… (1 Kings 13:17a). God takes obedience very seriously.
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me (John 10:27 NKJV). Following Christ does not make one a Christian, but following Christ demonstrates one IS a Christian.
Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy (John 16:20 NKJV). For a Christian, sorrow might come for a while, but it will be replaced with joy that lasts for eternity.
