Praying Down Thunderbolts

Ever wanted to do that? Things are going on in our nation today that cause many to think that way. Is it right? How should we pray when we perceive terrible evil seeming to get away unscathed? How do we pray for it’s victims? How do we pray for those who perpetrate it? Join us for prayer meeting this evening at 6:30 as we look at what the Bible says about “praying down thunder” on enemies.

Fireproof!

Last Wednesday we were supposed to talk about the Fireproof scroll, but due to a last minute conflict, had to change our plan. So let’s talk about it tonight in prayer meeting! Join us at 6:30 for fellowship, God’s precious Word, and a short time of prayer for one another. Has there ever been a time when we needed Christians praying more than now?

One Minute After You Die?

We’ll be meeting this coming Sunday evening, December 8, at 6:30 pm to enjoy fellowship, eat yummies, and talk about this month’s book selection, “One Minute After You Die,” by Erwin W. Lutzer. Join us! Even if you haven’t read the book, you’ll enjoy the time together. And who knows? Maybe you’ll get sucked into the joy of reading and read next month’s selection with us! Meet at the Johnson home at 6:30.

Only 3 More Chances!

Did you make a resolution for 2019 to start attending prayer meetings? Well, if you haven’t yet made good on that, you’ve only got 3 opportunities left! We won’t have prayer meeting on Christmas Day, so that leaves only tonight , the 11th and the 18th. Even if you didn’t make any such resolution, we’d love to have you join us this evening for prayer. We’ll learn about the Fireproof Scroll tonight. Remember that you can pray aloud or silently.…

All You Christmas Decorating Fiends…

It’s YOUR TIME! Some of you couldn’t wait until after Thanksgiving to start the Christmas music and decorating. Some of you were itching to put up your tree before Halloween had passed. And I know of at least one particular establishment in the area that had Christmas trees in place in AUGUST!!! So, those of you who so love decorating, come and help us decorate the Lord’s house this Saturday, November 30, at 1:00. The “Hanging of the Greens” goes…

Euphorbia pulcherrima

Or… as it’s commonly called – POINSETTIA. If you’d like to purchase one or more to help decorate the church, you need to do so no later than this coming Lord’s Day (December 2nd). Once Christmas services are over, the flowers you purchased are yours to keep.  Order forms are in the church foyer:

Now we praise… and now we pray…

Praise God for each person who packed a box this year, and for all those who labored so hard to make this our biggest Operation Christmas Child year yet. Great is your reward, brothers and sisters! GREAT is your reward. Rejoice in your labor for Jesus and pray He uses it gloriously now for the kingdom. May every single one of these 1677 boxes take the gospel to the heart of not only a child, but that child’s family, and…

Home Stretch!!!!

So far we’ve packed and / or collected 1500+ boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Remaining times for collection: Friday, November 22, 4-6PM Saturday, November 23, 10-12PM and 4-6PM Sunday, November 24, 1-3PM Monday, November 25, 9-11AM

Messy Stalls

Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox. (Proverbs 14:4 KJV) That verse reminds me that if you’re going to get things done for Jesus, sometimes it’s going to get messy! And this is a messy busy fascinating weekend coming up. Operation Christmas Child collection week is in full swing. There are boxes everywhere! And more coming in through Sunday when collection ends and we load the final boxes in…

Pack Pack Pack

It’s here! The 2019 Operation Christmas Child packing party will be tomorrow (Saturday, November 16th) at 10:00 AM. Come help us pack boxes, filled up with gifts, full of joy,  bearing the gospel, packed with love, and sent off with prayer. Only when we get to heaven will we know what impact each of these gift boxes had for souls. Will you join us?
