Weekend Update

Lot’s of stuff happening! Phase 3. Communion. Men’s ministries. Women of the Word. Dual services on the Lord’s Day! Don’t miss out on what’s happening here at FBC!

The Bread and The Cup

This Lord’s Day is going to be exciting for a couple of reasons. First, because we will be gathered together in the Lord’s house on the Lord’s Day with the Lord’s people. The long absence did two things amongst those who belong to Jesus – either it made them long for the fellowship of the Lord’s Day or it made them become complacent to it. I hope you’re in the first group! I know I missed it terribly, and found…

Weekend Update – June 21

A lot is happening this weekend at FBC! Saturday, June 20 – Pray for the Egli family, as the memorial service for Bud’s wife Linda takes place at 11:00 AM. Linda passed away in March, and the COVID shutdown caused the postponement of the memorial service until now.   Also Saturday, those wanting to ride motorcycles, meet in the church lot at 2:00 PM. (PLEASE NOTE THIS TIME. I had it listed at two different times, but THIS IS THE…

Who Wants to Ride?

If the weather forecast doesn’t change, Saturday looks to be a nice day to drag out the motorcycles and ride. Join us at 2:00 on the 20th? Bring a little cash for food, as we’ll stop to grab something on the way back. We’ll observe the requisite social distancing rules, so this should be a nice safe way to fellowship with your brothers and sisters. See you Saturday!

Let’s Pray Again

We will hold Prayer Meeting this evening, Wednesday, June 10 at 6:30 in our sanctuary. We will also provide a partial live stream of the service on our YouTube channel – Friendship Bible Church Happenings. You are welcome to join us either way. If you participate in the live stream, you may share prayer requests via the chat window, and we will pray over those requests during the prayer time.

Beginning Again!

Finally… after about 3 months of separation, we meet again! And oh how we look forward to seeing all of you again. We need each other. I recently read a Tweet from Mark Dever that really struck home to me. Mark is pastor of Capital Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. and a well known speaker at conferences around the country. Mark’s Tweet said, “I’m not planning on tweeting much this week. I’m away with Connie for our anniversary. I…

Family Worship for May 31, 2020

Hopefully, this will be the last of these posts. Unless something changes dramatically with the COVID19 situation, we will be meeting back at the church starting next Lord’s Day. For those who cannot join us in person, or are ill or at risk, we will continue to offer an online option via Youtube Live, though, for the foreseeable future. We will hold 2 services starting next Sunday. Those whose last names begin with A-K may join us at 9:00 AM,…

Family Worship for May 24, 2020

Happy Memorial Day weekend. Remember to thank the Lord for those who gave their all so we might have freedom. Memorial Day is not about thanking all those who served. Rather, it’s about remembering all those who died that we might live. After today, we will have only one more of these family worship outlines. Once we begin meeting in person on June 7th, the format of the online portion may change a bit. Watch the church website for details…

Family Worship for Sunday, May 17, 2020

It’s been an exciting week, hasn’t it? One week ago, on Thursday evening, we observed the National Day of Prayer at the church, in the building. This past Wednesday evening, we had our first onsite service since March 15, as we held prayer meeting at the church! Unless something changes, we will be observing prayer meetings at the church every Wednesday evening at 6:30, as was our normal custom before the shutdown. And on Sunday, June 7, we will hold…
