Prayer Meetings Are Wonderful

You don’t want to miss out on this wonderful opportunity. Prayer meetings are a time when EVERYBODY, regardless of their gifts or talents or abilities, can serve in a vital and mighty and awesome way. Whether you pray aloud or sit quietly and pray, you are personally carrying the needs of your brothers and sisters… of your church and church family… of your nation and community… of your world… to the very throne room of God and laying it at…

Walborn Celebration – TIME

Some of our ladies pointed out to me that I had scheduled the time for the Walborn fellowship too tightly against our worship service. I didn’t leave time for people to run home and change if they wanted to, or to get their food dishes ready. SO… Let’s revise the time. Rather than starting the eating and festivities at Walborn at 11:30, let’s push it back to 12:30. Plan on the burgers and dogs being ready to go then, and…

Lord’s Day Details

Don’t forget our July campfire fellowship will be different this year – we’re holding it at Walborn State Park (11324 Price St NE, Alliance, OH 44601) on this coming Sunday. Here are some pics of Walborn State Park. The day will go like this: Worship Service at the church at 9:30. This is our normal Lord’s Day worship, so you won’t want to miss this part. It’s the most important part of the day! Meet and eat at Walborn at 11:30ish.…

A Spurgeon Minute

The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin (1 John 1:7). “Cleanseth,” says the text–not “shall cleanse.” There are multitudes who think that as a dying hope they may look forward to pardon. Oh! how infinitely better to have cleansing now than to depend on the bare possibility of forgiveness when I come to die. Some imagine that a sense of pardon is an attainment only obtainable after many years of Christian experience. But forgiveness of…

God’s Gift To Me

For I wish that all men were even as myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in this matter and another in that (1 Corinthians 7:7). In 1 Corinthians 7, Paul was discussing matters of marriage and singleness. Further on in the chapter he turned his attention to matters concerning divorce and remarriage. It’s all good reading, and a great chapter for all believers, whether married or unmarried, to get a grasp of. As I was…

Friend Day at Friendship

Somebody has declared that August 4th is National Friends Day. That sounds like a good thing for us to take part in here at FRIENDship Bible Church! The youth will sponsor hot dog lunches (to go) including chips and drink for everyone following the morning service. The youth will also participate in much of the service. Bring your FRIENDS for FRIEND day! There will be a really cool prize for the person who brings the most 1st time visitors.

10th Anniversary Celebration

We’ve been thanking the Lord all this month for 10 wonderful years together as Friendship Bible Church. We’ll wrap it all up on July 28th with our 10th Anniversary Celebration at Walborn Reservoir. The day will start with our normal worship service at 9:30 (at the church), and then those who want to participate in the days events at Walborn can just head there after church. We’ll have the grills going and lots of food and drink. If you’d like…

Old Fashioned Sunday – It’s Getting Close

Our Old Fashioned Sunday is around the corner – September 8th to be exact. We’re hard at work getting things ready, but we’d love to hear some of your ideas on how to make it better than ever. If you’d like to share your thoughts along those lines, there are two ways you can do so. This coming Lord’s Day (July 21st), there will be a brief brainstorming session immediately following the service. Join us there and share your thoughts…

Schedule Changes This Week

What a great prophecy conference we just enjoyed! Praise God for raising up men like Dr. Jimmy DeYoung! And praise Him for giving so many a hunger for these truths, for our attendance and participation was wonderful. Now that the conference is concluded, though, let me remind you of some changes to the schedule for the rest of this week: Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting is cancelled this week. HOWEVER, the Whitely family would like to invite all willing to come…

It Doesn’t Seem Like 10 Years Already

Believe it or not, we are celebrating our 10th anniversary as Friendship Bible Church this month. I was reading some of the history of our church here on our website. It reads: “In July, 2009, the membership unanimously voted to disassociate from the Disciples of Christ denomination and reorganize as an independent, Bible believing, evangelical church, calling themselves the Friendship Bible Church.” God has been so good since, and we praise Him for 10 wonderful years together as Friendship Bible Church. During your personal…
